Where to begin an ecommerce?

The first thing you should do is an internal assessment of your business, regardless of its size or stage. This is the first step in identifying short-, medium- and long-term needs. Then, elaborate on the following seven steps:

1. Sets the product or service:

As with any traditional business, this is the first thing we need to know. What will you sell? Is it a product or a service? What are the features and benefits? Defining it will help you to know your market niche, your target audience and your competition..

2. E-commerce type:

Establish what are the requirements of your online store. As quantity of products and scalability. From site to logistics, it must be designed for growth.

3. Shipping & logistics:

Define what processes you must implement to keep everything running in a timely manner. Be clear from the beginning what the logistics will be, evaluate the best options for the product you offer, delimit territory and then grow.

4. Establish policies:

Do not launch your store without first creating its policies. Be clear about the rules regarding payment methods, shipping, returns, privacy, terms and conditions. Without a doubt, you will save yourself a lot of hassle.

5. Images and product data sheet:

Another key to a successful ecommerce is images and descriptions. Don’t just use the images provided by a supplier, let alone the descriptions. Images are not illustrative, but informative, it is the best approach that users will have with your product. They must convey what you want and they must let the user know what you want.

6. Develop a strategy:

Select the channels where your target audience is located and develop a series of actions that help the positioning of your store, such as valuable content about your products and topics of interest to your niche.

7. Build a community:

Make sure you connect with people who have an affinity for your product. A good alternative is to use social networks, in order to establish communication, learn more about the behavior of your audience and help build customer loyalty.

Choosing the right platform, design and architecture for a scaling business or enterprise can be overwhelming. There are too many options, each with its advantages, disadvantages and value propositions.
